Congratulations to Isaac Young, Colt Muir (3rd Place), John Underhill and Nate Williams (4th Place) and to all the wrestlers for their outstanding performance this wrestling season.

The Hope, Appleton, Lincolnville wrestling team had an outstanding performance on Saturday at the Pine Tree Wrestling League's East Regional Championship powering to a third place finish in the 12 team field. Isaac Young captured the 124 pound title, while John Underhill and Colt Muir finished as runners-up. HAL qualified 9 grapplers to Saturday’s PTWL Championships at Brewer High School. Top four wrestlers in each weight class qualify.

The team scores were: Troy Howard 186.0, Ellsworth 148.0, Hope Appleton Lincolnville 114.5, Hermon 100.0, Nokomis 96.0, Bucksport 90.5, Medomak 66.0, Camden 58.0, Brewer 41.0, Cony 40.0, Independent -Rockland 36.0, Independent- St George 0.

Other members of the HAL squad qualifying for the league championships were Zac Collins (4th at 75 pounds), James Archer (3rd at 82), Casey Rouleau (4th at 110), Wyatt Parra (4th at 131), Nate Williams (3rd at 170), and Matt Watts (4th at 240). Also competing for HAL at the regionals were Payton Young, Elija Ames and Nick Winters.

Congratulations to our wrestlers who will be heading to the Pine Tree Wrestling League States on Saturday: Isaac Young (first at 124 pounds), John Underhill (second at 89), Colt Muir (second at 190), James Archer (third at 82), Nate Williams (third at 170), Zachary Collins (fourth at 75), Casey Rouleau (fourth at 110), Wyatt Parra (fourth at 131), and Matt Watts (fourth at 240).

• The HAL wrestling team continues to see plenty of success on the mat and with the regional championship coming up on Saturday, they look to be peaking at the right time. HAL went 4-2 this past week defeating Brewer 63-18, Nokomis 58-24, Cony 60-36 and Medomak Valley 52-36. HAL dropped matches to Troy Howard Middle School 53-39 and a one point loss to Bucksport in a tie breaker 37-36.
• Leading the way for HAL was Isaac Young with 6 wins; Zac Collins, John Underhill, Wyatt Parra, Nate Williams and Colt Muir with 5; James Archer, Peyton Young and Matt Watts, 4; Casey Rouleau, 3; Elijah Ames and Brandon Benson, 2.
• HAL will compete Saturday at the Regional Championships at Belfast Area High School and the League Championships the following Saturday at Brewer High School.

The Hope, Appleton, Lincolnville team continues to pick up wins as they roll towards the regional and league championships. HAL has gone 4-2 over its last six meets and has beaten quality squads from Medomak Valley (twice) 60-22 and 57-27, Cony 48-38 and Camden Rockport Middle School 60-24. Its only two losses were to Bath 66-26 and Hermon 48-42.
• Leading the charge for the HAL grapplers are James Archer, John Underhill, Isaac Young, Wyatt Parra and Nate Williams all going 6-0 over the stretch. Zac Collins, Colt Muir and Matt Watts went 5-1, while Peyton Young picked up three, Casey Rouleau, two; and Noah Botley one. Elijah Ames came very close in avenging an early season loss and improves each time out so expect big things from him and the entire team in the weeks to come.
• HAL is hosting meets on Wednesday and Saturday at the Lincolnville Central School. Come out and support the squad.

The Hope, Appleton, Lincolnville wrestling team continues to improve by leaps and bounds as the season kicks into full gear in the Pine Tree Wrestling League. HAL traveled to Belfast to take on Troy Howard
Middle School and the Medomak Riverhawks. When the dust settled, HAL came out on the short end of a 65-28 score against the host Lions, while Medomak escaped with a 41-40 victory.
• Against THMS, HAL was lead by James Archer, John Underhill, Isaac Young, Nate Williams and Colt Muir, each picking up victories. James Archer won by forfeit, while John Underhill and Isaac Young won
by technical fall. Nate Williams and Colt Muir collected their wins by way of pin.
• Against Medomak, Zac Collins, Wyatt Parra, Matt Watts, James Archer, John Underhill, Isaac Young and Nate Williams all claimed victories. Zac Collins, Matt Watts, Nate Williams, James Archer and John Underhill all won by forfeit, Isaac Young won by major decision, and Wyatt Parra by pin.
• Despite the team’s youth movement, each wrestler has shown great improvement early in the season and with each match gain confidence, proving that HAL may be a force in the PTWL for years to come.
